it's SO funny that when asked what he had to do to prepared for his role in IWTV Sam Reid says he had to learn how to play the piano, learn to speak French, Italian, and English with a French accent. Bailey read IWTV religiously and added her own comments, and kept an actual fucking journal she wrote entirely as Claudia. meanwhile Jacob Anderson, when asked the same question, just responds with “oh nothing, i was already emo”. icons and legends only
My favorite Louis’ strategic lie by omission moment is still when in the first episodes he conveniently shows himself and Lestat going to sleep only when they happen to be fighting so he can imply that they sleep in separate coffins, but then Claudia’s narration later reveals they actually mostly sleep in the same coffin and those scenes were just the vampiric equivalent of Lestat being exiled to the couch
Thinking about Lestat sending Louis gifts and apologizing for six years and then realizing “no, I pulled this guy by crashing his brother’s funeral I need to be a bitch” so he puts his side-chick’s voice on his love song. And it fucking WORKED.

Hello and welcome to the IWTV Big Bang blog β‘
Our goal is to host a fandom event where writers and artists can create and collaborate on exclusive pieces to be posted to an AO3 collection that will go live in October 2023.Β
And though we suspect plenty of pieces inspired by the recent AMC series, and featuring Loustat, we will welcome all ships and pairings from the Vampire Chronicles Universe - as well as ratings, and warnings (with all applicable tags applied).

It shows all three characters, Lestat, Louis, and Claudia, standing on the roof tops of the city, and an overall red tint has been applied to the AMC press released still. The word "Update" in a pale red tinted font is off to the right-hand side. END ID.
We just wanted to share a quick update of thanks to the fandom - in just under 24 hours, we've already had nine sign ups and we appreciate the love and signal boosting you all have been doing for us across platforms. Thank you β€οΈ
Our open call applications are open through the end of the year, and all links can be found in our bio section and pinned post π€
Realized the Worst Thing about Claudia and Louis in s2 and had to physically sit down in the shower today
They’ve got the telepathy this time
He’s going to be able to hear her die
SHE IS GOING TO BE RIGHT THERE IN HIS HEAD WHEN SHE DIES
#it’s going to be a horrible parallel to when he heard her in the fire in New Orleans#but this time he won’t save her#this time he can’t#keeping you safe lil waif
OKAY BUT THIS IS UNFAIR
:((((((((((((
KEEPING YOU SAFE LIL WAIF
(Lays down on the floor and never gets up again)
Despite me taking Louis's side in the divorce always and forever, I am glad this show is really getting into the ways that Louis was not a great lover either. Louis is emotionally neglectful to Lestat, Lestat throws out bids for emotional connection, like reading his little book facts to louis, trying to keep his piano player around and getting him the soldiers. And all Louis does is crush his excitement and dismiss him. Louis admit he's a sexually neglectful lover, and knows Lestat who lives and breathes sexual attention from others cannot cope with that healthily. Lestat is physically and verbally affectionate, saying how much he loves louis and want to be with him forever. Louis at any sign of conflict reminds Lestat he has one foot out the door at all times, and Lestat has to constantly be on the defensive to protect their relationship. Louis offers Lestat no sense of relationship security, verbally or otherwise. The show, to me, does a good job of showing Louis's reluctance to accept being a vampire is tied to his reluctance to accept his sexuality fully - even after getting in long term relationship - internalized homophobia does not vanish overnight. So Lestat is an out and proud man, ready to love, in a relationship with someone so internally closeted I doubt he has ever said "I love you" back to Lestat. Imagine living with a man for years and still having to vie for his attention, while he sits in the corner ignoring you, reading his books and destroying himself with internal and external problems you cannot possibly solve. And any attempt to solve them is met with a firm shut down and cutting put down. Louis always knows exactly what to say to wound Lestat. What is this nuance portrayal of a dysfunctional relationship in my vampire media?!?!
